End of Week 7 Update

So this weekend has been packed with all sorts of fun, adventures, and new beginnings.

One of the three reasons I started this new view on life is officially here in this world. On Tuesday I became an uncle for the first time ever and let me tell you…she’s amazing. I’ve never had the experience of a life coming in to this world and when I got to see her for the first time, it truly blew me away. There’s this little human that shares genetics with me and I instantly felt love for her and I’m very much excited to be a part of her life and teach things I know. Soon enough I’ll be playing “tea party” and “dress up”, but knowing my sister and brother in law, she’ll be playing sports as well (thank god).

Other than that, the week was just a good week, I’ve eaten light and accordingly this week, got 6 solid days of workout and just all around feel good. I’m not checking my weight this week, I don’t have much interest in checking the scales on a daily or weekly basis. It’s not about daily, weekly, or monthly goals…it’s about overall change.

I’m currently working on rewriting my eating plan, although I’ve cut out all the bad things and I’ve been eating all the right things, I feel like there’s a better way to approach it so that I manipulate my body via food to get the best overall reactions. I want to approach my body as a machine, what are the best things to put in so that I get the most production and best use out of my body and the functions it’s built to do on a daily basis.

I’ve been consistently going to an acupuncturist and massage therapist. Both have been amazing and I’ve become more in touch with my body, mind, and spirit because of this. I’m also hoping to incorporate yoga in to my weekly routine to throw in something different as well build on principals from something new. I want to be able to incorporate and bring in all sorts of elements of life in to my daily life….if that makes sense?

I also started volunteering at a no kill dog shelter in downtown Chicago. It’s much different than any shelter I’ve known of. The dogs have their own rooms and don’t have to sleep in cages, the place is beautiful, and I can’t wait to keep volunteering. Everyone seems pretty cool there and I can’t wait to meet more people through this experience. Plus I get to hang out with a bunch of four legged friends! Since I’m not able to have dogs in my condo, I’m excited for this. Already scheduled some volunteer hours for the next couple Saturdays.

In general, life is good right now. I’ve been meeting new people who have done nothing but brought positivity in to my life as well as new found happiness that I haven’t felt in the last couple years.
